CAN WE MAKE A STAR? _ PROF. BRIAN COX

On the way of researching Professor Brian Cox to find out about current theories about time and our unsolved mystery - following with the question 'why we can't remember future if we can remember past?' - there was an interesting documentary on BBC 'Horizon'. One of the episodes they've aired is titled 'Can we make a star on earth?'. In this episode Professor Brian Cox leads us to numbers of experiment currently happening that is aimed to create energy that has got a possibility of making a star. (On Earth!)

Knowing our planet, our star, has been started with Big Bang - which is the greatest event have ever happened, the amount of energy that has been required to create a star is absolutely enormous. And now that we human are trying to create that much of energy with our technologies that has begun with 'curiosity.'


So here is the captured moment of one of experiments happening in US trying to create 'a star.' They are slowly reaching to the point of powering something as hot and dense as a star, and it is very much something. When it generates the energy as its maximum, it creates a tiny earthquake too, this image above is the result of that moment. This energy has its own structure that is connected to each other, it is very fascinating view of the current and movement of energy.




Interesting fact here is how the facility look looks like. It mainly consists of a 27 kilometre ring of superconducting magnets with a number of accelerating structures to boost the energy of the particles along the way. They creates energy travelling at 99.9999991% of the speed of light in the large hydron collider. This is the most optimizing design to make it happen - the best place light can travel as fast as it can? is this collider.
